About LAEF Grants

The entire purpose of the Lambertville Area Education Foundation is to help enrich the education of the children in our community’s public schools. We have been able to do this only because of the good will and generosity of the Friends of the LAEF. The board members of the LAEF are very grateful for your continued support.

Ninety-nine percent of the LAEF’s grants go to teacher-generated grants. Teachers formulate an interesting project, program, or idea for which there is no money available in the budget provided by the Board of Education, and they submit it to the LAEF. Grant applications may be submitted to the LAEF Program Committee during any of three grant review cycles during the academic year. We provide a teacher-friendly grant application which details our criteria for decision-making, and teachers submit it to their respective Program Committee representative. See a detailed description of the entire grant application process.

Over the years the LAEF been privileged to provide funding for a great many innovative projects that have had a direct and meaningful impact on the educational experience of the students in our community. While the majority of grants provide direct financial assistance, others offer person-power and/or professional expertise generously donated by some of the many talented members of our community. We call these ‘in-kind’ grants, and they sometimes include collaboration with other community organizations, with the LAEF serving as a conduit for services.
