Welcome

Our Work

We believe the future of our community lies in our classrooms and in ensuring that all of our children receive the best possible education. To this end, the Lambertville Area Education Foundation was created in 1992, with the goal of generating resources to enhance the educational experiences of our students and to increase community involvement in our public schools. Independent, not-for-profit and run solely by volunteers, LAEF today supports numerous innovative programs in math, science, technology, literature and the arts at Lambertville Public School, Stockton Borough School, West Amwell Township Elementary School, and South Hunterdon Regional High School. Since its inception, the Foundation has contributed almost $250,000.00 in teacher-initiated grants that have gone directly to fostering creativity and promoting excellence in our community’s classrooms.

Our Mission

The Lambertville Area Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization established to secure resources for innovative programs that enhance the educational experiences of students, support the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of education, and build community involvement in the Lambertville Public School, Stockton Borough School, West Amwell Township Elementary School, and South Hunterdon Regional High School.

Miss Emily J. Marshall, a dynamic West Amwell Township Elementary graduate, died in a tragic accident on August 17, 2007. This is the second tragedy to befall the Marshall family since Emily's mother, Greta Schmidt, a local artist, was killed in 2001.  The scholarship fund will support two graduating seniors:  a student from South Hunterdon Regional High School where Emily would have graduated in the year 2013 as well as a New Jersey Transit employee beneficiary.  Miss Marshall was an avid basketball and soccer player as well as a devoted animal lover.  A young philanthropist at heart, she donated her own money annually to Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY.

These scholarships are designed not only to support talented graduating seniors, but also to keep the spirit of Emily J. Marshall alive

Anyone that would like to donate a new item or a service to be auctioned at the benefit may do so through the e-mail address emilysbenefit@verizon.net.
